Blue Diamond With Special Guests George Shovlin & The Radars

On 11th March, we welcome two of the North East’s established blues rock outfits.
Blue Diamond return to The Greenhouse sharing a “double header” bill with the legendary George Shovlin & The Radars.
The bands will be individually performing their distinctive styles of electric and acoustic blues and rock, with an “anything is possible” jam bringing the evening to a close.
Blue Diamond, with three lead vocalists – Pat McMahon, Steve Willis and Wayne Crewe – and their powerful three part harmonies – have built up a large following and solid reputation for blending their own original material with classy interpretations of iconic songs from the 70’s period – recorded by the artists they, themselves, have long admired – Neil Young, Allman Bothers, Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, to name but a few. The band will be playing an “unplugged” set which will include one of Pat’s song, “Perfect Son”, written for and featured in the 2022 award winning film, “Give Them Wings”.
The Radar’s last studio album,’Nothing To Lose’, reached Number One in the UK IBBA (Independent Blues Broadcasters Association) Chart.
Frontman and “American Heritage Blues Hall Of Fame” inductee, George Shovlin, will be accompanied by renowned singer/songwriter/guitarist, George Lamb, and one of the NE’s finest bass players, John Taylor. And, to complete the rhythm section, the highly acclaimed Ian Hamilton, will be on the drum kit with both the Radars & Blue Diamond.
The occasion will be a great opportunity for friends, peers and music lovers to meet up and enjoy a night of live music.
